Abby Kaufman

Abby is so excited for her first summer at Camp Shai! She has been involved in Jewish camping for over 15 years, and truly believes there is no better place to be during the summer than at camp!

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Abby grew up attending Camp Wise, a JCC residential camp, both as a camper and in many staff roles thereafter, including: counselor, environmental educator, ropes course specialist, and Staff-In-Training Supervisor. Prior to this year, Abby was teaching English Language Arts to middle school students in South Boston.

She graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and has since earned her Master’s degree in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In her spare time, Abby loves spending time with family and friends, playing soccer, and hiking with her dog.

Camp has always been a very special place for Abby, and she’s looking forward to bringing her camp passion and ruach to Camp Shai in summer 2015!
